It’s a frequent stop for the yachts of the rich and famous, who prize the island’s laid-back atmosphere, beauty and privacy, and the three-bedroom villa known as Town House offers a comfortable and cozy birds-eye view of it all. It’s hard to identify what we love best about Town House, but its location is at the top of the list. Its second-floor location affords stunning views of the water, the sky, and the city, while its position between fine grocery stores, bakeries and the new L’Atelier Joel Robuchon restaurant means immediate access to gastronomic pleasures and the town’s remarkable boutiques, and a 5-minute walk to Shell Beach with its millions of shells in every color, shape, and size. Inside you’ll find soothing natural colors and soaring white beamed ceilings accenting an open floor plan that comfortably accommodates six. The well-equipped kitchen is complete with a breakfast bar that provides an amazing harbor view, and the three equally sized bedrooms are each equipped with their own king-sized bed and luxurious en suite. The sunny front terrace provides a view of the city, while the back terrace offers a restful respite complete with a combination swimming pool and jacuzzi. Red roofed “gingerbread” buildings complement the lush tropical landscape in Gustavia, the tiny Caribbean capital of St Barts whose sites and landmarks can easily be visited in just a day’s worth of trekking on foot. 17th century forts line the harbour, from Fort Karl in the north to Fort Gustaf with its lighthouse and cannons in the south. There’s also the popular Shell Beach, where beachcombers search for sparkling shells to pocket.
